Why should I see a Chiropractor?

Chiropractic care is for everyone, that is faced with some sort of stress throughout their day. These stresses can come from chemical toxins that we put into our bodies such as the food we eat, the lotion we put on our skin, and the medications we take. Emotional stress is something that no one can escape, whether it be school/work stress, financial stress, or relationship stress. The typical stress that we all think of when going to a chiropractor is physical stress; this is from falling, car accidents, and repetitive movements. All three of these stresses can affect how our bodies are functioning.

The CAUSE

Let’s talks about these types stress and how that relates to chiropractic. In the chiropractic world, we talk a lot about subluxations. Subluxations are misalignments of two bones along the spine. Misalignments are a very common response to stress over time. Why does this matter?!  When the bones that are protecting the spinal cord are misaligned even the tiniest bit, this puts pressure on the cord and the nerve roots. The pressure put on the nerve roots will directly impact the communication from the brain to that particular area of your body.

Studies have shown that you can have a misalignment in your spine for 10 years before you have any symptoms. How can this be?! Well, our nerve roots are comprised with 10 -15% of them accounting for pain and the other 85-90% of our nerves accounting for function. Which means that we go for about 10 years with misalignments putting pressure on our nerves, compromising how our brain is communicating our organs, muscles, and cells every day.  When nerves that are going to these areas that are not functioning well, then they are not communicate properly which means that health and healing are compromised.

The SOLUTION

In Chiropractic, we located these subluxations in your spine and remove the pressure that is being put on your nerves. An adjustment is how we do that – when chiropractors adjust the two bones back into proper alignments, they are freeing the communication between the brain and the nerves. When the communication is free of obstructions, our bodies are able to function properly and have a path for true health and healing. What do you mean heal?! Well your nervous system which is comprised of your brain and spinal cord is a self-healing machine. Let me explain, think for a second you just cut your finger open. You don’t have to constantly think ‘body- heal this cut’, your body knows what to do. So just like your fingers heal from a cut or you recover from a cold, so can your body from a muscle spasm or dysfunction in the GI tract.

We see this every day with a large variety of stresses and complications that has compromised a body for far too long. It is our goal to remove the chronic stress that has built up over time by removing the pressure on the nervous system.

The RESULTS

Chiropractic care leads to true health changes from above, down, inside, and out. It can and most often will take time for you to feeling better, but one thing we can guarantee is which each adjustment your body is functioning better and has the ability to start healing.
