What is the study of chiropractic?
Chiropractors are doctors who work with the nervous system. The nervous system in more general terms are is the brain and spinal cord. The brain communicates with the body via the spinal cord. The bones, also known as vertebra, that are protecting the spinal cord are misaligned, this puts pressure directly on the cord & the nerves. This may seem like no big deal, but in reality, this means the body has no clean pathway for communication. When the communication is interrupted, the body will try to alert us that something is wrong. The body can present with different symptoms like headaches, neck pain, back pain, dysfunction of organs, tissues, and muscles. Every part system and part of the human body is controlled by the central nervous system. Chiropractors go to school for several years to learn how to locate the misalignments along the spine and correct them.
